Vineyard Picnic
The best seat in the house is on the grass. Enjoy a relaxing picnic amongst the stunning scenery of our award-winning vineyard. There are no reserved tables and no time limits, just you, a wicker basket packed with goodies, and 29,000 vines to explore.
We provide everything you need: the blanket, the glassware, the food, and (crucially) the drink. Simply collect your hamper from the Winehouse, stroll out into the vines to find your perfect private spot, and settle in for a proper Yorkshire feast.
How it Works
- Collection: Head to the Winehouse Café at your booked time slot. We’ll hand over your picnic basket, a comfortable blanket, a wine cooler, and glasses.
- The Spot: The vineyard is yours to explore. Take a stroll through the rows and find your perfect place to stop—whether that’s by the pond or hidden between the rows of Solaris grapes.
- The Feast: Unpack a generous spread of homemade savouries and sweet treats. Once you’re done, simply pack everything back up and return the basket to the Café before you head home.
The Hamper Menu
We believe a picnic should be hearty. Here is what you will find in your basket:
- The Savouries: A selection of fresh sandwiches, local pork pies, sausage rolls, and crisps.
- The Sweets: Homemade cakes and fresh scones served with butter, jam, and cream.
- The Drink: Your choice of a bottle of our award-winning Latimer Wine (Red, White, or Rosé) OR 4 bottles of Yorkshire Heart Beer to share.
(Under 18s or drivers? We have a selection of premium soft drinks available as an alternative.)
Getting Here
Pool Lane, Nun Monkton, York, YO26 8EL
We are tucked away in the beautiful village of Nun Monkton, just off the A59 between York and Harrogate.
- By Car: We have plenty of free parking on-site. Just follow the signs for the vineyard once you hit the village.
- By Taxi: We recommend pre-booking your taxi home, as signal can be patchy in the vines!
